Visual Description
Progrexion is my visual interpretation of what it feels like to push forward — not just in music, but in identity and creative purpose. When I designed this cover, I wanted a single image that captured momentum, urgency, and the quiet chaos that comes with evolution.
The central figure became my starting point: a simplified, stylised character with arms raised high. I shaped it to feel expressive without relying on facial detail, allowing it to act as a symbol of a breakthrough rather than a portrait of any one person. The gesture suggests progress in motion — a moment where inner change becomes visible.
Around this figure, I layered sharp blocks of orange, black, white, and grey. The orange cuts through the composition like a decisive step forward, while the cooler tones steady the frame. Tribal-inspired marks, sunburst shapes, and circular motifs surround the character, blending modern energy with the cultural visual language that influences so much of my work. Together, these elements create a rhythm — a sense that progress comes in pulses, not straight lines.
The title PROGREXION sits boldly at the base in raw, hand-painted lettering. Its imperfect edges match the nature of growth itself: shaped by effort, driven by intention. Below it, I positioned the artist's name in clean white type for clarity and balance, grounding the artwork in identity.
Visual Concept
The concept for Progrexion grew from my desire to express progression without relying on literal imagery. I approached the design as a visual pulse — something alive, energetic, and deeply symbolic.
I began by breaking the artwork into key forces: movement, colour, and cultural pattern. The figure was deliberately kept faceless, allowing viewers to project themselves into the frame. Their raised arms became the anchor of the narrative — a universal gesture of motion, reaching, and becoming.
Once the figure felt right, I introduced the orange and black geometry to create tension and direction. The orange represents that moment where things shift — the point where progress becomes undeniable. The tribal lines, patterns, and sun-like emblems were added as a nod to the African roots embedded in my style, giving the cover a sense of heritage within innovation.
Typography became the final layer. I chose a rough, assertive style for the title to reflect the rawness of growth, then paired it with a cleaner type for the artist name to maintain readability and contrast.
Progrexion is, in essence, my visual statement on forward motion — a merging of culture, energy, and self-development captured in one bold frame.
